A Message From One of the Lesser People

Dear Dems,

If you vote to cut Social Security benefits and/or raise the retirement age (or if you sign legislation to that effect, Mister President), I will never vote for another Democrat ever again.

If you think I'm kidding, bullshitting, and/or trash talking, try me.

xxx...res

P.S. I'm okay with you raising the cap. :-)

  2. You said it, Res. Plus, I will literally be in the street with a pitchfork and a sign. I'm an old boomer who has ALWAYS taken my voting rights & responsibilities seriously, and 99.999% of the time I've voted with the Dems. If they *touch* benefits or push back retirement age they will have driven a nail through what they stood for as a party. Raise the goddamn cap! What's the problem with that?

  3. Co-sign. This shit pisses me off beyond belief. How can you call yourself a Democrat and not be four-square behind SSI? The program practically DEFINES the party. WTF?!

I'll sign on for this one - I realized that I gave money to Democrats and I get this sh*t and the corporations get the results. Time to save both my money and my vote. Only exceptions - Alan Grayson and Al Franken.

What do you do when you are at sea in a ocean of corruption, in a violent storm, the boat is taking on water, and the pumps no longer work, and the engine fails because the captain neglected the lubricant, and the fuel was laced with water?

Yes! Raise the cap to unlimited (at least until SS is paid back the money it "loaned"); then make adjustments to reduce the burden from those on the low-end of the pay scale and - POOF! - instant tax cut for those that need it and money into the economy.

The argument that SS will pay the affluent less than they put in fails when it is understood that the money "borrowed" from SS was used to fund the general obligations of government that the affluent enjoyed without paying.

Well, my advice would be to begin drinking heavily.

Exactly how old are you if you've voted otherwise .001% of the time, only the once in every one thousand elections?

You know, if you're going to try to make a point about mistaken math, at least get the math right.

Otherwise you look like an idiot.
The proper number would be 1 in 100,000 elections.

It's quite heartwarming to see that extremists like Woody have completely soured on Barack Obama.

Obama really fucked over the extreme leftists that solidly supported his election. I encounter leftists almost daily and every one of them I've bothered asking feels like Barack Obama betrayed them.

    You haven't asked me asshole.
Obama is a great president who needs all the support we can give.
I fear he will be taken down by such cretins as you disposed of Salvador Allende in Chile. MCConnell himself, already has openly set that as a goal.
