Can't figure out what that nonsense is about there being dissent among scientists about the reasons for electrical storms in and around volcanic eruptions. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of electrostatics can explain it.
It's called huge differences in potentials and plenty of discharge paths which produce... lightning....
