Well whaddya know

There is a national candidate who wants to get the welfare-to-work program.

...Of course, it is not Obama or Biden...

It is Paul Ryan and it's on the record.

Morons gonna "Moronate"

The tragi-comedy of Romney trying to gnaw the foot he stuck knee-deep in his mouth has been discussed around the internet in great depth.

But the the absurdity beneath the tragedy of the protesting and deaths is broader than just Willard.

Let us start with the film (and I'm stretching the definition) "The Innocence of Muslims", it appears that not only can we not figure out who was behind this project -- better named "The Protocols of the Elders of the Birth of a Nation" -- but it appears it was a fraud in every sense of the word.

A statement released on the behalf of the 80 cast and crew members ... indicates that they are not happy with the film and were misled by the producer.

"The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose," the statement says. "We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."
And then there is Senator Jon Kyle of Arizona, who demonstrated there is no subject that Republicans cannot bring back to their other favorite topic...rape.

I know mockery of #MoneyBooBoo and the rest of his compatriots eases some of the anger, but they still might win.  Which will be the greatest tragi-comedy of them all.

Yes indeedy

Assholes gonna Asshole

After his disgusting doubling-down on committing political malpractice and flat-out lying in the wake of a tragedy look at the self-satisfied smirk on the Williard-visage...
If you wonder why he commits such errors, don't look at his handlers, look at him.

That is BUSH-LEVEL douchebaggery.

Update: here's another "smirk" while at the rostrum.

Stopped clocks and all

I don't know what is more distasteful, Romney's ham-handed effort to exploit tragedy or his commission of political malpractice that is galling. Okay, since they both hurt him politically. Maybe it's that I am in agreement with Mark Halperin.
I'm going to need Dick Morris' proclamation of Romney's performance being a masterstroke that will settle things back to some semblance of normality.

That about sums it up

From Jeffrey Goldberg's article condemning Romney's reckless statements about Egypt and Libya comes this comment which sums it up best.

JOURNALMALISM!

I can just see the Vanity Fair photographer telling "serious journalist" (in her own mind) Mika to keep going for that total "longing" look at the rat-faced idiot on her left.

And furthermore using Snopes.com will lead to summary execution

You stay classy AND rational right-wingers:

In the past we’ve had a policy of banning people who argue in bad faith. As Politifact, and the whole menagerie of “fact checking” organizations have demonstrated themselves to be slavishly attached to the Administration’s nether regions I will consider quoting any of them, in a non-ironic way, as being evidence of arguing in bad faith and worthy of a ban.
Good job RedState.

I've had my problems of course with some of the fact-checkers bending over backwards to impose illogical or arbitrary designations, but banning them is Colbert-level self-parody.  I really must congratulate them on their isolated little planet.

Way to be an asshole, asshole

Hey, some  bigoted piece of shit -- the type that make up a good portion of my base -- makes a bigoted piece of shit which sadly (and mutually inexcusably) leads to violent assaults upon American embassies (including it appears the US Ambassador to Libya) what would a decent person's reaction be?

And let me do the opposite.

That's Mitt Romney, first class-low class asshole.

Good business plan

Maybe they should have had a holographic Steve Jobs?

Company Behind Tupac, Reagan Holograms Now Bankrupt
And to think the GOP decided not to use Holographic Reagan because they didn't want to overshadow Romney.

...only to have Romney overshadowed by a completely different inanimate object.

Way to hurt small business assholes.

If nothing else the Right is good at ham-handed revisionism

Remember the original inexplicable explanation that the Komen Foundation gave to severing ties with Planned Parenthood over funding for breast exams?
The founder and chief executive for Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Thursday flatly rejected accusations that the organization caved to political pressure in cutting ties to Planned Parenthood, a move that has ignited a firestorm of controversy.
And every person on earth (even from the Right who were cheering them on) called 'bullshit'. Well, the well-known right-to-lifer at the center of it all, Karen Handel, has done what all good conservative-extremist do and turned disaster into a hefty book contract -- and guess what? You were right.
Handel also suggests that Komen was under pressure from outside organizations to steer funds away from Planned Parenthood — including the bishops of the Catholic Conference of Ohio, who issued a statement to “direct Catholic parishes and schools away from fundraising for Komen for the Cure and toward activities and organizations that are fully consistent with Catholic moral teaching.” “It was a public relations disaster and it was spreading across the country, one diocese to the next, and generating significant media coverage,” Handel writes.
Now THAT is some fine revisionism right there...we HAD to cut off Planned Parenthood because it would have been a PR disaster if we didn't.
How did reality actually treat that one Karen?
Enjoy your book advance and speaking fees.

And need I remind you, these folks now

Constitute Mitt Romney's foreign policy advisers...
The direct warnings to Mr. Bush about the possibility of a Qaeda attack began in the spring of 2001. By May 1, the Central Intelligence Agency told the White House of a report that “a group presently in the United States” was planning a terrorist operation. Weeks later, on June 22, the daily brief reported that Qaeda strikes could be “imminent,” although intelligence suggested the time frame was flexible. But some in the administration considered the warning to be just bluster. An intelligence official and a member of the Bush administration both told me in interviews that the neoconservative leaders who had recently assumed power at the Pentagon were warning the White House that the C.I.A. had been fooled; according to this theory, Bin Laden was merely pretending to be planning an attack to distract the administration from Saddam Hussein, whom the neoconservatives saw as a greater threat. Intelligence officials, these sources said, protested that the idea of Bin Laden, an Islamic fundamentalist, conspiring with Mr. Hussein, an Iraqi secularist, was ridiculous, but the neoconservatives’ suspicions were nevertheless carrying the day.

Speaking of Romney's surrogates

Williard was just off campaigning with this guy and proclaiming "God on this and God on that", so what else has Pat Robertson been doing?

Mitt Romney this weekend stumped alongside televangelist Pat Robertson, not minding Robertson’s legacy of incendiary, insensitive, heartless and apocalyptic rhetoric that has gotten him in trouble in the past. Apparently, Robertson’s own CBN has become aware of Robertson’s problematic statements, and may even be editing his controversial claims out of episode archives.

For example, today on the 700 Club’s “Bring It On” segment where viewers ask Robertson questions, one man wondered how he should go about repairing his marriage with a wife who “insults” him and once tried to attack him.

“Well, you could become a Muslim and you could beat her,” Robertson responded. “This man’s got to stand up to her and he can’t let her get away with this stuff,” Robertson continued, “I don’t think we condone wife-beating these days but something has got to be done.”

He later said the woman is a “rebellious child” and pondered if she has psychological problems. Robertson told the viewer that since he “can’t divorce her according to the Scripture, so I say: move to Saudi Arabia.”
God forbid Romney get confronted with this shit.

Hey it's an Anniversary

I still cannot get used to NOT having the Bush Administration issue a colored-alert that matched the tone of Cheney's last bruise.

Feel the Enthusiasm

Republican office holders love Mitt so much you can feel the disdain.  Ohio Governor Jon Kasich can read the polls in his state:

Kasich, meanwhile, said almost nothing positive about Romney in our conversations, other than to say his life would be better with a president who would get the federal government out of his way. “He says he’s got a 53-point plan or whatever, I don’t know,” was Kasich’s rousing endorsement of the Romney agenda.

Wait a minute....what?

Really?

Mitt Romney’s campaign strategist, Matt Rhoades, recently revealed the Republican candidate’s historical role model: James K. Polk, the president from 1845-1849.
James K. Polk is famous -- okay, in 2012 we may be stretching the term "famous" for a one-termer that came between Jackson & Lincoln -- for a few things.

1. Starting a bogus and illegal war with Mexico
2. Almost starting a bogus and illegal war with England
3. All so that slavery would try to expand upon and hasten the coming of the Civil War.

...oh, and kicking the bucket a few months after he left office.

So in other words, what the modern world would call a War Criminal of the First Order. Plus, I'll be damned if I'm going to rename my place of residence to being in "Romney County".

Hashtags I wish I'd thought of...

Mitt Romney is.... #MoneyBooBoo
(pic from here)

It's been more than a week

The Washington Times decided to write an article about how DNC delegates didn't hang out at the prayer room (silly people you know the DNC delegates were out having gay sex and using each others orifices as make-shift bongs while doing their secret socialist hand-shakes! -- in fact, I'm having gay bong socialist sex -- RIGHT NOW!). Meanwhile, there are only about 30 days on the Reverend Moon resurrection clock left to prove he's Jesus II -- The Kimchiing (Seoul Brother #1)...GET ON IT MOONIE TIMES!

But...of...course

How could it be otherwise?
Within Hours, Mitt Romney Takes Back Everything He Said About Preexisting Conditions

Yep, that enthusiasm gap

"Please Like Me, or AT LEAST fake it"
