When Bush Flip Flops People Die

Chimpy McFlightsuit and his Neo-Con White House advisers overruled the judgment of the U.S. Marine commander in Iraq last April, ordering him to launch a retaliatory assault on Fallujah against the strongest of objections. Three days later, the Bush misadministration reversed their plans and pulled the Marines back and gave control to the insurgents, I suppose the cameras had left then? Military policy by photo opportunity is the rule with the Bushies.

By then, however, six Marines and many Iraqi civilians (men, women, and children who just happened to "get in the way") were dead. When the supposedly resolute born-with-a silver -something-in-his-mouth-manchild flip flops, people die. When kerry changes his mind, he is considering what makes good policy not what makes good copy for the morning papers. It is a sad testament to the decline of politics that the race is even close.

How many more days until we throw the bums out?
