Look, American Public, it's bad enough that George Bush was even "competitive" for the Presidency, let alone won it twice on a technicality. You'd think after being sold a war that was very, very bad policy by a guy that has bee revealed to have little character we'd learn. But nooooooooooooooooo.

A new Associated Press-Ipsos poll says 55 percent of those surveyed consider honesty, integrity and other values of character the most important qualities they look for in a presidential candidate.

Just one-third look first to candidates' stances on issues; even fewer focus foremost on leadership traits, experience or intelligence.

I'll say this even for 2008 when the "character" thing clearly appears to skew in the favor of the Democratic Party, choosing your President based on "character" over "policy" is idiotic.

The thing that got us into Iraq was our inability to immediately recognize shitty policy. It was when the policies were revealed as incredibly shitty, that most people realized the "character" of George W. Bush.
