The most powerful Amendment of them all

Naturally, Republicans in Congress are so protective of the Second Amendment (so powerful they never read the first clause) that the right to bear arms extends even to things that are not actually guns.

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) introduced legislation this week to block federal funding for schools that enforce rules that punish students for playing with imaginary weapons.

Naturally, this is called the "Student Protection Act".   A-yep.

Finally, the nation's most pressing issue is addressed.

Next up, Stockman introduces a law to mandate every child get a free pack of candy cigarettes.

Steve Stockman seeds his campaign mailing list by raffling off AR-15s. Of course he won’t disclose the winners. Might be a bit embarrassing after they’ve made the network news.

Worse still, Stockman is presumably on the brighter end of the wingnut spectrum, having managed to get elected AND somehow find his way to Washington DC without stepping on one or more rakes, running into a concrete pillar, etc.

Can you imagine the kind of people who think, "yeah, this is who I want representing me..."

Oh, wait. Not only can I imagine them, I live in a city that has plenty of them...and they own guns...and cars...

Christ.
