What the hell is this crap? City's Schools Closed Tomorrow.
"SnOMG II: This Time Its Personal" doesn't even start for at least seven hours and the damned schools are closed already? The NYC Board of Ed are wimps. Christ, when I was a kid we went to school in typhoons. And if on the remote chance you actually got a snow day you had to wait until five minutes before you either boarded the school bus or started walking to get word about it from the snow-day-Scrooges at our school. Hell, we even walked to and from school in the snow!
Seriously: I have a very clear memory of one particular snow day when I was in seventh or eighth grade. It was already snowing when we left for school. By noon, a good six inches had piled up and it became apparent that the snow wasn't letting up, so the geniuses at school finally realized that an early release was advisable. We got on the the bus, only to have it get stuck in the snow about half a mile from the school. The driver told us to wait, that another bus would come to pick us up, but we were having none of that. The neanderthals that regularly populated the back of the bus opened the emergency exit and we all jumped out, with the bus driver yelling and screaming, "Stay on the bus! You must stay on the bus!" I walked the two miles home in really heavy snow. I remember it was very slow-going, with a big chunk of the walk through woods.
Anyway, these kids today are pampered, lazy, cell-phone-addicted, video-game addled brats and I think they should all get their asses to school tomorrow so they can learn that because Ronald Reagan freed the slaves the "Democrat party" must pay reparations to Americans of African descent for time immemoriam. They should also get off my damn lawn. Sheesh.
