American Nutrition: The latest example of "we just gave up"
*Sigh*
Sometimes you really need something salty and something sweet come dessert time. But it’s just so much work to combine those two mouth experiences. For those lazy snackers among us, Lay’s is rolling out chocolate-covered potato chips this week.
The offering is a limited-time deal, meaning if you want to get yours hands on Lay’s Wavy Potato Chips Dipped in Milk Chocolate, you won’t have an eternity to get your hands on some.
Each five-ounce bag goes for $3.49 and will be sold only at Target stores through the holidays.

I once worked in a gift shop that also sold candy and some novelty foods. One time we got a shipment of chocolate-covered potato chips in pint containers. Of course the staff opened one and tried them. They were actually pretty unappetizing, the chocolate softened the chips. A total bust.
that was a new treat like years ago. meh. i make fresh homemade 'kettle' popcorn from scratch for salty sweet.

Which is about five top-heavy, gloppy chips.
The snack cartel strikes again.
Milk chocolate and salt? Ick. I will never understand this love affair that my fellow Americans have with milk chocolate - it's just gross. Almost as bad as that abomination of a foodstuff that goes by the name of "white chocolate". Blech.
Pretzels dipped in dark chocolate is a tasty treat, so I could see dark chocolate dipped potato chips also being interesting. But Lay's "potato" chips covered with melted Hershey's Kisses? Blech.

I'm sure they've invented a new level of processing and special "natural" chemicals that will artificially ensure that the "crispness" is retained. Are they even really "potato" chips and "chocolate" or some artificial replacement substance?
