Things I never thought I'd say

Joe Lieberman is right.

I disagree. START is WAY, WAY more important to national security than finally getting around to allowing gay soldiers out of the closet.

Nuclear proliferation versus civil rights? Nuclear proliferation is more important. Plus, even if the next Congress won't pass DADT, the one after that surely will. This issue has been decided by the American people and Congress will eventually get around to repealing it.

START is another matter, and could seriously damage our foreign policy and our national security if it fails. Lieberman, as usual, is wrong.

Indeed, Taylor Wray, START is important. But as TPM outlines it, both START and DADT can be passed if DADT is dealt with first in this lame duck session. START is very likely to pass in the new Congress. DADT, not so sure.

It's a matter of votes and timing, not lack of importance.

And, yes, Senator Droopy Dawg is right. That sound you hear is my head exploding.

Next year, the Senate will hold START hostage. Why? Because it's what they do. The assholes know we'll give something else up to keep them from destroying our country.

And Lieberman(CFL-Likud) is not right, he's a tool. He wants to be one of the hostage takers.
