An Explanation for the Slow, or intentionally Dimwitted

Speaking o' Instawanker, his excuse making, encouragement even, of the development of American-supported Death Squads is perhaps the lowest of an unending series of trench-dwelling he has been on since getting a stiffy for the creation of Chimptopia.

Mark Kleiman sums it up:

Death squad activity is terrorism. Its purpose is never merely the assassination or kidnapping of a small number of leaders, but always the cowing of entire populations.

This case is no different. Note the language carefully:

One military source involved in the Pentagon debate agrees that this is the crux of the problem, and he suggests that new offensive operations are needed that would create a fear of aiding the insurgency. "The Sunni population is paying no price for the support it is giving to the terrorists," he said. "From their point of view, it is cost-free. We have to change that equation."

The target isn't a few dead-enders or foreign terrorist; the target is "the Sunni population," which needs to be taught a lesson.

Could that be effective militarily, sure...MAYBE...it has not always worked, in fact it has failed about as often as it has worked.

BUT, the real question is, so what? To an extent the "Final Solution" would have worked too if given another year or two. The fact that it was the ultimate in vile evil needs to be factored into the equation somewhere.

We "allegedly" invaded Iraq to create a better, democratic Iraq. We "allegedly" invaded Iraq for humanitarian reasons. We "allegedly" invaded Iraq because Saddam was a cruel dictator, who killed political opponents -- in particular those who belonged to either Kurdish or Shiite sects.

In short "Freedom is on the March" bitches and all that claptrap.

So, having failed on every item of consequence for its war justifications, the humanitarian peg now falls by the wayside and we just decide to go balls to the wall, like any other group of bastards throughout history.

"Oh, Attaturk how naive of you"

No, it is not naivete on my part. It is the incredible intellectual jujitsu of the enablers of this incredibly vile Administration who would make Orwell look understated that most pisses me off. They still claim they do this for peace, harmony, and humanitarianism while they KILL, KILL, KILL. The resistance is "evil" therefore, we must be "evil"

Well, fuckers, there would not be a resistance but for your incredible incompetence and vileness. You created 'em, now you want to join 'em.

One of the wingnuts favorite voices, and addicts, likes to proclaim the GOP reflects

"AMERICA, the way it ought to be."

Well, this is apparently, their version of America...pushing the idea of "terrorizing" civilian populations through murder, rape, and assault. In other words developing a CAPO network we can rely upon.

Well, assholes...

Evil is as evil does.
