"The Good Guys..."

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" - Wayne LaPierre

Ladies and gentlemen...you can guess where Mr. LaPierre's logic train rests here, just a portion of one day in America:
A Seattle grandfather shot and killed his daughter and granddaughter in front of his 10-year-old grandson before turning the gun on himself Monday night, police said.
More heroes.
After initially saying he had only heard the gunshot, Galen Hawk, 26, allegedly confessed to detectives that he shot Lonato Moran-Allen, 3, on Wednesday night, according to reports from the Billings Gazette newspaper and Montana television station KECI.
I'm sure these folks were just intending to defend themselves from the government. [cross-posted at Firedoglake]

Leaving aside the gruesome daily reminders of Wayne LaPierre's insanity (let's just say, if there is a hell and I doubt there is, LaPierre ought be one of the main exhibits there), Ernst's protestations that she's going to "protect her family" from evildoers and the government is just crazy, considering that she's also made much of her military career in the Iowa National Guard, which just happens to be a part of the very same government from which she's going to save her family. So, when the Guard shows up, is she going to kill herself?

Crazy and stupid, and half of Iowa loves her. That's a sad fucking commentary, isn't it?

Add Jose Canseco's gun cleaning accident to the list. Shot his middle finger off. I wonder if it was his pitching hand?

That's pretty awful.
