The reality of non-reality

It isn't just parody, it's obnoxious tragedy:

World Trade Center [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
I just caught a few minutes of the local Fox News. The anchor warned that the few scenes they were to show of the upcoming Oliver Stone movie World Trade Center would be "disturbing." Yes. And so is war. So is our reality. And the audience for their newscast in particular should know that well.

BUT...

WE...

CANNOT...

SEE...

FLAG...

DRAPED...

COFFINS!!!

Let alone the immediate results of dead civilians killed in Iraq, or dead American soldiers before being sealed in a casket -- or certainly things like BAGHDAD ER.

And for heaven's sake we cannot possibly discuss things like the massacre at Haditha as a byproduct of Dear Leaders voluntary war in Iraq.

But no, we should see death and destruction when simulated in a recreation of the ultimate right-wing masturbation moment (after Bush standing on rubble with a bullhorn) as showing we are seeing the "face of war".

Sickening.
