for "Christian". In this great catch by Digby, I am really struck by the arrogance of these people.

I'm writing to ask you to join me in doing something effective against the leftist organizations and liberal media who have launched truly vicious attacks on U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

They attack Tom DeLay for just one reason: Congressman DeLay is one of the most effective fighters for conservative principles.

The Chritian right has hijacked the Republican party because consolidating power was more important to Karl Rove and the rest of the jackals than the party's own principals, whatever those are. And this, by the way, is why people like Buckley and Kristol are turning against them now. Good riddance.
