Who Died and Made Bush the Boss

Greenwald, as usual, nails it in this post from the weekend regarding Orrin Hatch's evolving views on the constitutionality of FISA. Though there is one fact, one absolute truth, that in my opinion slays every argument the mouth-breathers can muster in justifying Bush's conduct:

(3) Every President since then complies with the law -- including President Reagan and Bush 41 during the height of the Cold War - and no Administration or member of Congress challenge its constitutionality.

When you stop and think that even Ronald Reagan and Bush 41 obeyed the requirements of the law during some pretty scary times, well that tells you something. I was born in time to have vivid memories of the Soviet menace in the 70's and 80's--as Glenn says it: the height of the cold war. Do ya think either Reagan or Bush 41 could not have had even better justification than the putz who now inhabits the oval office to do a little selective warrantless spying on American citizens?

Just a reminder what kind of putz now inhabits the oval office. As if we needed one. Thanks Glenn.
