Workin' Hard, but Hardly Workin'

General Pace is starting to give General Myers a run for the money in the kissing-ass department.

Responding to criticism of Rumsfeld's policy decisions, Pace responds by not responding...like a Bush Administration appointee:

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff defended Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld from new criticism by former Pentagon brass Tuesday, telling reporters that "nobody works harder than he does."

"He does his homework. He works weekends. He works nights," Gen. Peter Pace said. "People can question my judgment or his judgment, but they should never question the dedication, the patriotism and the work ethic of Secretary Rumsfeld."

Well that's nice and all. But I don't recall anyone ever saying that Rumsfeld has Bush's work ethic.

We are questioning his goddamned judgment!

Rummy working hard at being incompetent is hardly a salve general. All sorts of dangerous, incompetent boobs have worked hard over the centuries.
