Message Discipline

Let's say you're the chief architect and cheerleader of the most unpopular war ever.

Let's say that a majority of the country wants to end that war.

Let's say you have an opportunity, with a stroke of a pen, to end that war.

Let's say you've decided to remain (a) stupid, (b) defiant, (c) stubborn, (d) widely reviled, or (e) all of the above, and forego that opportunity.

Would you choose to forego that opportunity of the fourth anniversary of the day you pranced around the deck of an aircraft carrier in a flight-suit costume saying, "We won! We won!"?
