Stop me if you've heard this before

Hey look everybody, everything is looking like it's no problem -- yet again!

BP Plc Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles said on Wednesday it appears drilling mud, not oil, was gushing from a ruptured undersea well six hours into an effort to halt a month-old oil spill.

And we've no reason to ever doubt their word, so surely this means the corner has been turned and we can go back to being eviscerated by big banks again. Or maybe not them alone.

BP: Borderline Petroleum

Well, lessee. The drilling mud was supposed to plug the leak, soooo, if the drilling mud is being ejected from the wellhead under pressure, maybe that means that it didn't plug the fuckin' leak.

At this point, I don't think BP can say anything that can be believed. We're now 38 days into this mess, and BP has spent more money on CYA PR than they likely have on solving the problem.

It ain't workin', Hayward. It ain't workin'.

I've often wondered if Shooter would make an effective plug.

They should just park OnA and keyboard directly over the leak and tell him to start typing. The sheer amount of bullshit he spews just might be able to plug it up.

Perhaps BP could deflate OnA's ego, insert it into the well and reinflate it.
