Confusion

Dear readers I am confused. Seriously and deeply troubled and confused about the pronouncements made by the Bush administration leading to the Iraqi war. As I remember it, before we invaded Iraq Paul Wolfowitz said that the Iraq war would be a quick and decisive combat.

I also remember something about how the Iraqis could finance the reconstruction effort after said war. And wasn't there something mentioned about how the cost of the war would be low because of how American troops would be greeted?

Anyone else remember something about flowers and open arms? I am just trying to remember because we all forget things from time to time.

Now it appears that Paul Wolfowitz was wrong about all of those conclusions about the Iraq war that he was so certain of before we invaded. Evidently the Bush rule is in place: all things a president and staff does, tries to do, muddles through is "hard." Or as Wolfowitz puts it:

"Combat in Iraq poses difficulties for rebuilding and development in the country" Paul Wolfowitz, the new president of the World Bank, says.

Ah... So that explains the problem. No, not at all.
