Shitty Messaging, Media sympathy for the Right -- a little of both?

Republicans have already smashed the all-time filibuster record and filed it more since Obama became President than were staged between the First World War and the Moon Landing cumulatively.

That includes it's use on civil rights laws, the central topic that the filibuster was used in that era, it was rarely used otherwise.

Not that the media makes much of it -- though with occasional exceptions I don't see the Democrats or the Administration repeatedly bashing them over the head with the topic.

But when the Democrats used it in 2005-2006, I remember it discussed ad nauseam -- hence the "nuclear option" talk of blowing up the filibuster over a refusal to allow a couple of judicial appointments to come to the floor.

Suddenly, the demand of an up or down vote is the height of un-democratic behavior.
