Surface temperatures in the Arctic since 2005 have been higher than for any five-year period since record keeping began in 1880, according to a new report from the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program, an international group within the Arctic Council that monitors the Arctic environment and provides advice on Arctic environmental protection...Temperatures in the Arctic permafrost have risen by up to 3.5 degrees in the past two to three decades
There's a lot of methane in permafrost which is released as it the temperature rises, which only makes climate change accelerate...so awesome. I'm waiting for John McCain to blame immigrants.

Oysters may be functionally extinct in North America, but Öysters will live forever!
Does this mean the party's over?
they are ignoring the costs of ignoring it.
This is playing Russian roulette with civilization. Its the number one world issue, and... LOOK OVER THERE, a racy photo!!
not just methane, but ozone and worse still, water vapor increase the heating of the atmosphere by as much as a thousand fold compared to simple carbon dioxide. you increase the heat, you increase the feedback loop, and on and on... thus the greenhouse effect. the continued acidification also adds to release of methane from beneath the sea floor, and the heat itself changes everything from the weight of the atmosphere and tidal forces within it, to the tidal forces within the earths crust and mantle... welcome to what we said all along... we've shit in the pool, and now we have to try to learn to breathe in what we shat out! maybe if we taught SCIENCE in our schools...
