"Dear America,
Sorry about not giving a shit about income disparity or taking part in protests about it.
I had to defend the millionaire football coach who did the bare minimum legally required as a guy continued to rape children for nearly another decade.
You see, my entire life has been spent in a nation that clearly has its priorities in order.
Sincerely,
Penn State Undergraduate"

I'm not defending anyone who participated in these riots, but they don't represent every student at Penn State. There are a lot of students whose first reaction was to begin collecting money for child abuse prevention. And don't forget the many, many students who participate in the yearly "Thon" - a 48 hour dance marathon which raises millions if dollars for cancer research. There are a lot of sheep on every college campus but right now, the hard working and decent students who had nothing to do with Sandusky, any cover-ups, or any rioting need support and understanding. Unless you're here, you have no idea how devastating this is for them.
Shorter rioters:
"Screw education, I enrolled here to bask in the vicarious glory of a football factory. Your reality is threatening my identity."
Nonetheless, those riots happened and did a helluva lot more damage than anyone walking with OWS on the Brooklyn Bridge or sleeping at Zuccotti. I'd like to see some arrests and prosecutions for the pedophile supporters in that crowd, but I'm not counting on it.
football priorities+publikkklan priorities.

Exactly. No indiscriminate pepper spraying or being shot in the head with tear gas canisters or beaten and held for 18 hours for these folks - 'cause we loves us some football and they're just high-spirited kids and yadda yadda blurp blurp. So they set fires and overturned cars! Mere youthful hijinks!
