Eh, he's done worse

In his desperation to stop the "settling" process underway in the GOP, Newt Romney played a late robocall asserting that Romney attempted to deny Jewish senior citizens kosher meals. It was based upon this actual event:
Mitt Romney is getting heat for a 2003 veto he cast as governor of Massachusetts to reject $600,000 in additional funds for poor Jewish nursing-home residents to get kosher meals.

At the time, Romney said he nixed the funding of about $5 per day because it “unnecessarily” would lead to an “increased rate for nursing facilities” — even as kosher nursing homes were complaining that state-funding-formula changes could force them to close their kitchens.
In other words, Mitt in 2003 had an undeniable message "Learn to vote Republican Jewish People!" Still it was probably not the most offensive thing Romney has done in this regard.
When Newsweek magazine asked Romney if he personally had performed posthumous baptisms on anyone, author Jonathan Darman wrote, “he looked slightly startled and answered, ‘I have in my life, but I haven’t recently.’
It is well-known that for years the Mormon Church has posthumously baptized non-adherents to Mormonism, in particular, Jewish Holocaust victims. Something in the continuum of somewhat offensive to effing creepy for pretty much everyone.

It is also known the Romney has done this for particular individuals, such as he late father-in-law an avowed atheist.

So Mitt, any comment? [cross-posted at Firedoglake]

More questions for Mitt:

Other than your father-in-law, how many dead people have you baptized? Where you present when your church made Anne Frank a Mormon?

When Mormons die, some get to become gods and rule their own planets. Do you get to choose the planet or will it be randomly assigned?

Speaking of planets, Mormons also hold that God lives near a planet called Kolob. What constellation is that in?

When you wash your magic underwear, is there a special cycle you put it on? Would it be blasphemy to use fabric softener?

What did you like most about spending your military-age years as a missionary in France? Do you and Dick Cheney ever compare draft deferments?
