Infrastructure, schminfranstructure

Good thing we can keep affording to give tax breaks to oil companies to avoid those nasty public safety measures that also provide actual jobs!

The Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River collapsed Thursday evening, dropping two vehicles into the water and injuring three people.

Both the northbound and southbound portions of the bridge collapsed into the river sometime before 7 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis.

Xavier Grospe, 62, who lives near the river, said he could see three cars with what appeared to be one person per vehicle.

Obviously the only thing that can keep a bridge from collapsing is another bridge with a gun.

Even in the wake of tragedies like a bridge collapse, people will still bitch and whine about taxes. Where I live, the city is finally sending out road repair crews to fix long stretches of city streets that are in deplorable condition. The streets finally reached a point where potholes and uneven pavement were damaging cars.

But none of the people I've talked to would want to see any increase in their taxes, oh, no! They would rather dodge potholes and bumpy streets than spend a few more dollars a year in taxes.

My best wishes and condolences to the families affected by the bridge collapse.

Definitely a tragedy...unless it can somehow be blamed on Obama. Then it's an outrage.

voodoo economics has come to this. HOW IS THAT TAX CUT GOING FOR YOU NOW?

bridges are not free. NOR IS WAR. what do the teabags plan to fix this?

The only way to get Teatards to support bridge repair is to have Fox News declare a War on Rust, complete with idiot-light color codes.

investing in the infrastructure of the states and the country at large is the surest way to help both the economy and the people. therefore we MUST be told continuously and vehemently by teaparty rethugs and obama haters that to do so is tyranny.

i'm looking at the republican obstructionists and the right wing hate mongers as true terrorists anymore. it was the radio and media hatemongers who whipped rwanda into genocide. in the usa we get the same hate spewed into the air so long and so frequently unchallenged that it becomes normal to hear it.

i'm ashamed of my own country.

Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it tough to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm
thinking about making my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? With thanks
