This does sum it up

Krugman on the Heritage Foundation:

Wheee! The Heritage Foundation is engaged in frantic damage control; not only did its big anti-immigration-reform report turn out to be a steaming heap of, um, bad research, but one of the co-authors turns out to have a serious white supremacist background.

It would be a terrible thing to happen to a serious think tank. But Heritage isn’t a serious think tank, which means that all of this is just a bit of overdue poetic justice.

...

The truth is that Heritage has never been in the business of doing economic analysis; it’s just a propaganda agency posing as a think tank. And this time it finally caught up with them.

Of course, proving the point, it does appear that the Heritage Foundation has one fan.

Rush Limbaugh...after all they are one of his few remaining sponsors.

The only thing that can hurt Heritage is a loss of funding, and some of the creepiest and craziest billionaires in the country have been chipping in to keep it going for almost forty years. To those creeps and crazies, Heritage has been an example of money very well-spent.

The author of the report, Jason Richwine, may have left Heritage, but, he will resurface somewhere else. He's proved his bona fides to the richest creeps and crazies, and his lifetime access to wingnutz welfare is ensured.

With Rush taking payola from Heritage (a felony) maybe we can get two buzzards with one stone.
