Married same-sex couples who live in Tennessee, where gay marriage is banned under the state constitution, are being denied name changes on their driver's licenses, the Tennessean reported Saturday.

But if Riley J. Cornpone wants to change his name to Asshole P. Loudly NO PROBLEM!

Beautiful place, with totally fucked politics. I say this as a native son and long-time resident.

The sad thing is, for a while at least, when I was a young adult, we were one of the more progressive Southern states. (Although admittedly, that's setting the bar pretty low.) Then we decided to go toe-to-toe with Mississippi to determine who could elect the biggest bunch of batshit Godbothering morons and outright sociopaths to public office.
