See the warriors for the Jeebus. There are times when I feel that all of human suffering has been for nothing at all: because nothing has been learned from it whatsoever. And then after a short time I believe... no, actually I have nothing for hope after watching that video.
"Help me kill the infidels, Lord!"
Speaking in tongues, weeping for salvation, praying for an end to abortion and worshipping a picture of President Bush — these are some of the activities at Pastor Becky Fischer's Bible camp in North Dakota, "Kids on Fire," subject of the provocative new documentary, "Jesus Camp."
What? Worshipping a picture of Bush? Isn't there something about false idols, I read somewhere? I am trying hard to recall where I read that.
"It's an absolute, straight-up us-against-them," Sandler said. "It's, you're either with us or you're against us. … Not only are you a sinner, but you are working for the enemy — the enemy being Satan."
I also recall some religious figure, a prophet of peace if you will, said something about forgiveness and kindness. Could it be that these people are fighting against the very religion that is supposed to be the basis of their beliefs. Satan indeed.
