I Can't Imagine Why

Boston Globe:
Recent graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point are choosing to leave active duty at the highest rate in more than three decades, a sign to many military specialists that repeated tours in Iraq are prematurely driving out some of the Army's top young officers.
Take a look at the stats cited in the article. These are the military's best and brightest.

I'm thinking that these young people value their status as Whole, Separate, Unique, Living Human Beings.

Update: file this under "I Can't Imagine Why," as well. Difference here is that not one of these asses will be on the line. No, these people have loftier concerns, like what's left of their already trashed "legacies."
