Because I'm lollygagging at home instead of hustling into the borg I've just been treated to following words of wisdom from one our most important pundits, Chris Matthews.
1. Obama lost NH because NH voters are racists. They told the pollsters they'd vote for a black man, but in the booth, they were suddenly transformed into a state full of Archie Bunkers. (In other words, we will continue to employ our crappy pollsters, because the voters are liars.) Update: To be clear, I have no idea if the NH primary voters are racists or if the pollsters are crappy. What I object to is rejecting the latter possibility out of hand, which is what Matthews has done. There is certainly evidence that people say one thing and do another, but how does Matthews know that that is what happened here? He doesn't. Not six hours after it allegedly happened, certainly.)
2. "Let’s not forget and I’ll be brutal, the reason [Hillary Clinton] is a U.S. Senator, the reason she’s a candidate for president, the reason she may be a frontrunner is her husband messed around. That’s how she became Senator from New York. She didn’t win there on the merits." (Never mind that her opponent was this schmuck.) (Video here.)
Should have gone in early.
