Sarah Palin's religious beliefs and political affiliations are fast becoming subjects for commentary albeit a few weeks too late. In incremental steps reporters are slowly reviewing her political career, ideas, beliefs, and policies. This report is interesting because it conveys what might be the depth of Palin's intolerance of those who disagree with her. If there is a shred of truth in this report, then Palin would be very dangerous for this country.
I have wondered if Palin is really way off to the right wing of her party? Or is she part of a new even more extremist right wing alignment in the Republican party? And I wondered who would make a good example of this process...
Readers of this site will recall that Idaho voters sent the now late Helen Chenoweth to Congress for three terms. If she were alive today I'm sure she and Palin would quickly become the best of friends. Chenoweth was a complete wing nut who supported the movement to return federal lands in the west to private hands, believed in black helicopters, spoke approvingly of the militia movement, and became famous for enraging environmental groups by saying that she didn't see how there could be a problem with saving salmon since she could buy as much as she wanted in the grocery store.
In many ways Sarah Palin is another Helen Chenoweth, the only real difference is that Palin will be much closer to the Presidency and will have a hand in actually making policy that will affect every citizen in this country.
