I'm glad my office is on the opposite side of the river from the Capital complex in Des Moines. Because I have a feeling we'll be seeing some folks gathering at the Supreme Court building to either applaud or jeer.
In the Summer of 2007 a district court in Polk County (i.e. Des Moines and the surrounding area) rendered a decision finding that the states version of the Defense of Marriage Act violated the rights of same-sex couples under the Iowa Constitution. It was appealed and now the Iowa Supreme Court will release its decision tomorrow.
If the Supremes uphold the decision (and I hope they will) we all know what the GOP will be shrieking about right through the 2012 caucuses.
