Aw, and to think I've never listened to her ever...

Apparently Dr. Laura (Ph.D most decidedly NOT in Psychology or Psychiatry) is quitting radio because mean people have taken all the fun out of using the "N-Word".

"I'm not retiring, I'm not quitting, I feel energized, actually. Stronger and freer to say the things that I believe need to be said for people in this country."

Yes, we all need to hear more ethnic slurs, surely.

Of course she didn't give a more traditional and accurate response:

I'm leaving so I can spend more time mentally scarring my family.

You're exercising your first amendment right to repeatedly use the word "nigger"?

Good.

Then I'm exercising my first amendment right to repeatedly use the words "idiotic racist Bible-thumpin' bitch".

Oh, no, Privatize. Her comment calls for "idiotic racist Bible-thumpin' cunt."

Tit for tat.

Privatize and Athenawise, I agree with you that we should use the words with the strongest negative connotation possible when referring to this person. As such, I will only refer to her as Dr. Laura Schlessinger.

Oh, stop it with the silly partisan posturing!
If you leftards were actually concerned with racism then you would have been highly critical of Reverend Jesse Jackson or (the former) Senator Robert Byrd.

Leave it to OnA to just not get it.

How's the GOP party building efforts going OnA? Demographics are (like Laura Schlessinger) a bitch, and unfortunately for the GOP, people tend to know when they've been insulted.

Someone said that "Dr. Laura left her show to spend more time with the N-word." That won the internets yesterday, for me.

I don't know exactly what racism OnAn is accusing Jesse Jackson of, but I for one fail to see how one can do anything other than applaud the late Senator Byrd's resignation and renunciation of the KKK.

But I suppose in OnAn's pathetic world of stereotypes, there is no way for a former racist to apologize and change?

I for one would be really happy to hear Dr. Laura Shlessinger apologize and change just like Byrd did, and I would give her a lot of sincere credit for doing so.

Actually I thought Andy Borowitz won the internets with his tweet yesterday "Dr. Laura says she is quitting her radio show "to spend more time with Mel Gibson."

Aside from Jesse Jackson's long list of race-baiting the specific instance I was recalling was this particular nasty one......(technically speaking religious bigotry rather than racism in its true def).....

// " Jackson used "Hymies" to mean Jews and "Hymietown" to mean New York City while talking with the Washington Post reporter Milton Coleman in January 1984. " //

I'm guessing that PTPSTC wasn't aware that Robert Bryd continued to use the N-word long after his supposed apology and renunciation. Long afterward.
Like for instance, on March 4, 2001.

Well, it turns out the troll is wrong again, who'da thunk it?

Jesse Jackson's remarks, which were deplorable (and widely criticized by the left in 1984, by the way) were not really "racist" so much as anti-semitic.

And Senator Byrd was quick to apologize for his deplorable use of the N word.

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/03/04/byrd.slur/

And it should be noted that Byrd's use of the N word was actually made in the context of deploring racism!

So anyway, OnAn, I assume that you DO deplore what Dr. Laura said, aside from trying to ignore it and criticize others...?

Troubles with your reading comprehension, again, huh?

here's what I wrote:

Mr Profits. You should seriously consider taking some kind of reading comprehension courses.
