Geez, I'm so old that I remember when Nelson Rockefeller just took a ration of shit from the wingnutz for having divorced his first wife for Happy.
Maybe it's okay if Reagan did and Limbaugh does (again and again) because they're "entertainers" and Hollywood types and it's almost expected that divorces would occur with them. Maybe that's how Giuliani gets a pass--all those drag queen performances makes him an honorary entertainer....

Got in an argument with a churchy a while ago about Calif. and Prop 8. She went nuts when I said marriage was just a contract with priests, Rabbi's, etc allowed to act as notaries. With flowers.
Finally asked her, "When a couple divorces, whom do they contact first - their Priest, or their lawyer?"
It's only a court that can grant a divorce because marriage is a contract.
They don't show a whole lot of respect for contracts when it comes to labor unions, why should they care when it's a marital union?

But Huckabee said today that the Obama administration abandoning DOMA was wrong because gay marriage leads to the breakdown of families and the breakup of marriages. And the deficit of Dads costs this country billions each year. Really? Is that because men are abandoning their marriages for other men as it becomes legal? That would be a change as most men abandon their marriages and families for a younger female...
DOMA is unconstitutional.
