And where will we be in one year?

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the whole-scale slaughter of people, most children, throughout Oslo -- 69 of them on the small island of Utoeya. In commemoration ceremonies Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said:
despite the great suffering Breivik had caused, he "failed to achieve what he set out to do. The people triumphed"
Anders Breivik sits in jail, his delusions of an Islamic takeover of Europe and the uprising he would create defeated by a people who united to reject such an idea to such an idea that they refuse to even shed his blood. Meanwhile, we've got Michele Bachmann.

And what we also have is another mass slaughter from a gun. And we all know what will come of it, no matter how logical and non-violative of the Second Amendment new restrictions would be...nothing will come of it.

And one year from now we are almost certain to have at least one additional incident of mass murder by gun.
Since 1982, there have been at least 36 mass murders* carried out with firearms across the United States.
And all we will have accomplished is the interregnum before the next one.

*Murders by single individuals of at least four people at one location at one time.
