Half the jobs in the nation pay less than $34,000 a year, according to the Economic Policy Institute. A quarter pay below the poverty line for a family of four, less than $23,000 annually. Families that can send another adult to work have done better, but single mothers (and fathers) don’t have that option. Poverty among families with children headed by single mothers exceeds 40 percent.Wages for those who work on jobs in the bottom half have been stuck since 1973, increasing just 7 percent.
Only the already wealthy have seen their incomes grow generally...and they've grown A LOT!

Makes one wonder why there aren't riots in the streets.
Maybe people are worried about losing the shitty jobs they do have, or having their credit ratings deep-sixed.
But, one thing for sure, if forty million workers stayed home for ten days (presuming they had the resources to do that), all at the same time, you'd hear a lot of politicians and CEOs screaming, "uncle!" (The lock-down of the Boston area reportedly took $330 million out of the economy in just one day--multiply that by ten, and extrapolate it to the 300-odd metro areas in the country. That's a shitload of lost revenues.)
