How could this have happened before we had a real chance to get involved with 'shock and awe'? Life -- and the ability of the United States to deal out arbitrary death is so unfair!
Syria has started moving chemical weapons materials out of the country in a crucial phase of an internationally backed disarmament program that has been delayed by war and technical problems. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said on Tuesday that "priority chemical materials" were transported to the port of Latakia and onto a Danish vessel which was now sailing towards international waters.
Well, if nothing else Liz Cheney's life will have renewed purpose, as other people must die to avenge her political career. [cross-posted at Firedoglake]

And now we're invested in assuring the survival of the Assad regime, at least until the chemical weapons materials are destroyed. Voila!
