How to make sure you elect a Lunatic

Make sure you split your major parties into fractions then you can get a 33% elected...and that person is often crazy. Minnesota got by somewhat luckily with Jesse Ventura...and I say that ONLY in relation to what Maine has obtained with their current dangerous lunatic in charge.

LePage is a fucking nutbag and will be sent packing next election

Maybe. I honestly fear that a significant part of the American population is insane, though. When the "two" parties are basically very similar in real ways, some people turn to extremism. Plus, we have always been crazy in this country.

It's only a matter of time before LePage starts issuing brown shirts to his supporters....

LePage is a whackjob, there's no doubt about it. He was elected with 31% of an abysmal vote (the Dem siphoned off enough votes from an Independent to give LePage the nod), and I fear it will happen again. Mike Michaud, the D, has a good lead one-on-one with Fat Ass, but with Independent Elliott Cutler in the mix, LePage stands a chance of getting a second term. If you have a few hours, and want to see just what a far-Reich-wing nut job Teabaggin Patriot Sovereing Citize he is, read just about ANY of Bill Nemitz's columns in the Portland Press-Herald (www.pressherald.com). Just as a taste of what you're in for, he used to run Marden's Surplus (www.mardens.com), a crap shop that makes Sanford and Son look good. Hell, it makes Wal Mart look like Neiman-Marcus.

If the Dem candidate siphoned votes from the independent, then it was the democratic party that caused the lunatic to get elected. They should have gone with the independent candidate as the lesser of two evils. :)
