Saving my ass at all costs is a "family value"

Oh the "integritude" is palpable.

It's almost like Clinton getting a haircut! I'm sure the media will be totally on top of the hypocrisy here...

"Mr. Sherwood has certainly admitted to what is going on,” [ed. EXCEPT FOR THE CHOKING] White House spokesman Tony Snow said Friday, according to an Associated Press report. “And the president also believes that we’re all sinners, we all seek forgiveness and, in this particular case, he’s supporting Don Sherwood’s candidacy.” [ed. MY ASS IS ON THE LINE]

Mr. Sherwood, R-Tunkhannock Township, who is married, admitted to having an affair with Cynthia Ore, a woman 35 years his junior, after she accused him of choking her at his Capitol Hill apartment. He denied abusing her, and a lawsuit was settled out of court. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. [ed. i.e. HE ADMITS NO WRONGDOING, HERE'S A BIG ASS CHECK THAT PROVES IT "GOD BLESS AMERICA!"]

Sherwood is enthusiastically endorsed by Li'l Ricky Santorum as well as his Mason Jar o' Fetus too!

But I'm sure K-Lo (who's love of Santorum is almost as strong as her love of a crown roast) is more than willing to forget a little sexual abuse in the name of the Republican Party just like her man Ricky!

And it is telling, as others have noted, that this campaign visit occurs during "National Character Counts Week" as proclaimed by Bush this week:

America's strength is found in the spirit and character of our people. During National Character Counts Week, we renew our commitment to instilling values in our young people and to encouraging all Americans to remember the importance of good character...

...NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim October 15 through October 21, 2006, as National Character Counts Week. I call upon public officials, educators, librarians, parents, students, and all Americans to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and programs.

Instilling values like, "It's okay to cheat on your wife & beat your mistress for moral turpitude"!

Huzzah!
