We reported this several days ago

People in the White House sure like to talk about their workouts, as opposed to coming up with new policy speeches (let's give the same speech again and again and again because 'this time I'll really nailed it!').

The Chimp constantly, and in rare displays of sincere animation, can actually talk for hours about the hours he whiles away on the treadmill watching SportsCenter. Indeed, Bush runs the country like a clueless fitness trainer. "Eye-rack, feel the burn!; All Pain, No Gain!"

Well, now we have Laura once again coming to the cause of cheerleading about the deeper issues of our times:

It starts with walking (about 45 minutes a day, early in the morning), usually around the oval on the South Lawn of the White House. Sometimes she takes a friend and a security detail and walks off the White House grounds, on the National Mall, says WRC-TV morning anchor Barbara Harrison, who had also interviewed Rice.

"I love to walk with a friend," Bush told Harrison. "You find you talk so much the whole time, before you know it you've walked 45 minutes."

It's also half-a-pack of Virginia Slims.

I don't buy it, like Bill O'Reilly, I feel my way into reality, and I described Laura's workout routine last week.

My favorite part of the interview was this telling portion:

She told Harrison her fitness routine began after she married George W. Bush, whom she calls "a natural athlete."

"I was shamed into starting to exercise," she said.

When contemplating where the "shame" came from remember that her husband's pet name for her is "LUMP". Which really tells you all you need to know about George W. Bush doesn't it?
