But it seems to me that for the last two years, literally, within 10 days of a Bush "happy Iraq talk" event -- be it the latest "surprise cameo in the Green Zone" or the latest in a series of "elected leaders" of the Green Zone appear in Washington (with mandatory Joint Session photo-op) we find out that the happy talk devolves into a situation even worse than before.

I'm too lazy to go and find any examples other than the latest appearance by Maliki and Bush's surprise trip where Tony Snow peed in his pants.
