Rising Hegemon
Dionne says he personally knows and likes Lieberman. Perhaps he and all the other DC insiders who are so worried that this Lamont challenge will end up hurting Democrats in the fall should have a talk with Joe. After all, whether or not there is a "distraction" is entirely in his hands.
What I say to Dionne is that even George Bush, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Paul Wolfowitz, Doug Feith, Condi Rice, and [name your favorite idiot here] have any number of people that will vouch they are just swell human beings. I say it don't mean shit. Lieberman deserves a humiliating defeat. Whether he gets it or not is another matter, but we can hope.
