Wow

There is apparently a Congressperson that wants to give Steve King (Moron-Iowa) a run for his money on the title of "biggest moron" in Congress:

TODD AKIN (R-Missouri): Could you picture Davy Crockett at the Alamo looking at his Blackberry getting a message from Congress? “Davy Crockett, we support you. The only thing is we are not going to send any troops.” I’m sure that would really be impressive to Davy Crockett.

Okay, there is so much factually wrong and ironic at the same time about this statement it is hard to know where to start.

From pointing out the obvious that I really don't think making "Alamo" analogies to the situation of American troops in Iraq is a real "confidence" builder for staying; to the fact that the U.S. Government wasn't involved in "the Alamo"; to the fact that if Akin thinks Crockett is such an emblem, perhaps he should make like Congressman Crockett and enlist in the cause.

Not to mention Crockett & a blackberry is a rather stupid analogy.
