At my caucus site numbers were double the 2004 turnout.
Both Tom Harkin and Dick Durbin attended my caucus and I had the opportunity to button-hole them on telecom immunity. Durbin showed great judgment in passing on the opportunity to address the crowd.
I am amazed at the hostility some pundits and bloggers have towards the Iowa process. People, don't hate. The caucus, as imperfect as it is, as a process is far superior to writing a name on a piece of paper, punching a card, or filling a ballot. There is a lot to be said for the angry (or at least determined for change) mob and until you have tried it, don't knock it.
