Not just a lie, but a malicious and evil one -- Truly a Monster

Yes, evil. Following up on Res Ipsa's link to the paralyzingly stupid and mean-spirited lie of Sarah Palin, Publius sums it up perfectly:

It's goes without saying that this statement is an outright demonstrable lie. And it's coming from a former candidate for Vice President of the United States.

But that said, Palin is sort of right on one point -- there are people who weigh whether children like Trig are worthy of insurance. They're called insurance companies, and they have decided that these children are not in fact worthy of coverage. That's because Down Syndrome is a "pre-existing condition."

Palin is literally using her down's syndrome child as a prop ONCE AGAIN to malevolently assert the OPPOSITE of reality. Expanding health care coverage, as the legislation will do, will cover more children with disabilities that insurance companies currently refuse to insure.

No politician who would lie so vanely, stupidly, and yes evilly is worthy of holding an office, especially when she uses a falsehood about her own child -- when kids in exactly the same position will actually be demonstrably and greatly helped by the legislation she is lying about.
