Occupied the nature trail with Mr. AngreePee, my neighbor's Wheaten Terrier. He's fighting a losing battle with inoperable bladder cancer, and I wanted to spend a good weekend together with him before winter sets in.
Mr. AngreePee is old and cranky, doesn't sleep well, has trouble getting out of bed in the morning, and is almost universally grumpy about most everything in his life. Kind of like me, actually.
I'm going to miss that old fart of a dog. I never had the time or inclination to get one of my own, and I'm starting to regret that. I hope his owner has the courage to pull the pin when there aren't any more good days left.
My husband and I joined about nine thousand other people for the American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Walk. It was a 5k walk, cool, breezy weather, and the spirit of sharing and doing something positive was very uplifting.
No total yet on the amount of money raised, but I hope we beat last year's total of $400,000.
