Being President Is A Tough Job

When you go through life handed everything you need, when you don't have to do a lick of work, when you aren't allowed to fail because you are propped-up by family and friends, when your shortcomings are covered with money and favors, should we expect anything exemplary from you, ever? Uh, no.

The only thing that surprises me is that it has taken this long for most of the mainstream press and a clear majority of Americans to let it sink in. Unfortunately that majority of Americans would have discovered it sooner had the press not been complicit in the shell game being run by Karl Rove. Bush has been mouthing platitudes for his entire Presidency, like waving a magic wand, he has figured all he has to do is talk and the machinery of government, his government swings into action. The best example is the whole mess around the government response to Katrina. How bad it looks has been brilliantly captured by Froomkin.

It is really scary to imagine what goes on in that empty brain of his. But it is a lot of fun watching him take his lumps.

Nice job, Babs. Nice.
