Enabler without a Clue

David Broder:

These and other publications owe Karl Rove an apology. And all of journalism needs to relearn the lesson: Can the conspiracy theories and stick to the facts.

Jiminy fookin' Jeebus!

I'm waiting for Broder's demand that all of journalism apologize for allowing Rove Inc. to orchestrate a fucking goddamn, fraudulent war!!!

How about it Davey?

Anybody else you want to apologize?

-- The Lindbergh Baby says "sorry" to Bruno Hauptmann?
-- Nanking begs forgiveness of the Japanese?
-- Roman Polanski apologizing to Charles Manson?
-- Send off an email to Eli Weisel telling him to apologize to Mel Gibson?
-- Chakka apologizing to Ghengis Khan?

I have the feeling that if David Broder's daughter was involved in an abusive relationship, where her boyfriend/husband hit her, Broder would immediately think she must have done something to deserve it, so she better zip her lip and go and beg forgiveness. Because that's how he rolls!

This, of course, comes the day after these revelations are reported

* At the time of her outing, Valerie Wilson was an undercover officer in the CIA whose mission had been to gather intelligence about WMDs in Iraq. She was the operations manager of the Joint Task Force on Iraq, a unit in the clandestine service of the CIA. This unit desperately tried to obtain evidence to back up the Bush administration's assertions about Saddam's WMDs, yet it found no such evidence.

* Richard Armitage, the deputy secretary of state, was the original leaker in the CIA leak case. But as he was disclosing information to columnist Robert Novak, Karl Rove, Scooter Libby and other top White House aides were engaged in a fierce campaign to discredit Joseph Wilson. Rove even told MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews that the Wilsons "were trying to screw the White House so the White House was going to screw them back."

Like the Post editorial last Sunday, this Broder column is the ultimate demonstration of the contempt the media/political clique of the Beltway have for you, the American citizen.

A contempt that Karl Rove makes his living exploiting.
