Keep on Smearing in the Free World

The whack-a-doodle right-wing smear machine just keeps on chugging along. I mean who worries about a few little facts here and there to keep one from a good story. Truth is just a five letter word, right?

So-called Insight magazine owned by the Unification Church owned Washington Times (nothing like the old owned by owned by stuff, eh?) reported that as a child in Indonesia, Mr. Obama had attended a Madrassa, a school that teaches a radical version of the Muslim faith.

And where there is a smear -- the constant searching for attacks on the Democrat Party can't keep a good right-wing machine down! And, but of course, the Fox News Channel is there. They discussed the report on two of its high quality programs.

The sham of a story was also picked up by The New York Post (which we have reported here and yeah a few thousand others have too), which shares ownership with Fox News (huh, there's that ownership thing again), and was discussed by several conservative talk-radio hosts (hmmmm... I wonder who owns them?).

But wait friends, there's even more! Hang on to your hats...

Fox’s Gibson probably went to the very same Madrassa. How is that for strange coinky dink? Good ol' John Gibson. Not to be confused with that paragon of virtue, Mel. No, the red tie wearing Gibson is hawking some fine truth of his own. Now in the era of Steven Colbert, should I be calling this truthiness?

John Gibson is none other than the author of one of those nothing but unbiased scientific books on the scourge called Liberal -- The War on Christmas: How the Liberal Plot to Ban the Sacred Christian Holiday Is Worse Than You Though.

Personally, I did give it any thought. Heck, most liberals I know are too busy fighting for health care or a living wage or just trying to make it through this thing called life to war against X-mas. Of course, there is always next year.
