Compare & Contrast

A man 83 years of age, a former Naval Officer, and President of the United States shouts down a gun toating Sudanese asshole while fighting to prevent genocide.

Y'know I think most of us, conservative or liberal, have decried the treatment of the minority population in Darfur.

Except, giving credit to ANY Democrat is too much for too many who call themselves Republican before they call themselves anything else, including Americans, and then decry everyone else for their lack of patriotism.

Like, say, the well-known bigot Mark Krikorian, published naturally at that haven for the bigotted class, The National Review:

So, our worst ex-president joins Desmond Tutu on a trip to Darfur. When Carter tries to make a detour, his Sudanese government minders tell him he can't, so he erupts:

"We're going to anyway!" Carter angrily retorted. "You don't have the power to stop me."

But of course, they did have the power to stop him, because guns trump sanctimonious hand-wringing every time.

And just who is Mark Krikorian. Why he is the kind of guy that wants to deport the spouse of a soldier on his way to fight for Uncle Sam in Iraq.

And he is the kind of guy that praises Israel for NOT allowing in human rights refugees from Darfur.

What a sweetheart of a human being.
