Forget 'Local Hero' ...

Though Charles Pierce is right, of course. But if Donald Trump went the way of Lizzy Quinn in one of my other favorite movies Waking Ned Devine (wrong island, I know, but still), I'd chuckle just a little.

Protesters opposed to Donald Trump's planned $1.5 billion Scottish golf resort say they've pulled a trick shot out of their bag.

At the center of the plan is local fisherman Michael Forbes, who has long been an irritant to Trump. Forbes has refused the American tycoon's offer of nearly $700,000 (488,000 pounds) to buy his family's 23-acre run-down farm, which sits at the center of the planned resort.

But Forbes has sold an acre of his land near Aberdeen to protesters who also disagree with Trump's plans – a sale which will force the property tycoon to face down more than 60 people.

Speaking truth to power is quickly becoming a lost art. "Worst Combover in the World" is a good example of what the world is becoming and Michael Forbes is a better example of what we need to do to stand up to these corporate assholes. Thanks 'turk. -g

hasn't this guy bankrupted enough shit in his lifetime... and shouldn't any bankers be backing away from any of his hair-brained schemes?

And good for the farmer and his fellow travelers, they've trumped The Trump.

Trump wouldn't hire Forbes and Forbes sure as hell wouldn't want a job working for Trump.
