Actually, the first "I" word that came to mind was infuriating.
Please explain to me why I should continue to vote for Democrats that legislate like Republicans.

Well, some may be angry that the bill the democrats passed exempted some groups we might like and the NRA, but if the republicans had been in charge, the bill probably would have exempted the NRA and some groups we like. It'd be completely different!
...it was interesting, in Googling around, to find some conservative commentators who are equally irked at the NRA over this bit of chicanery. They consider it a sell-out by the NRA at the expense of other smaller 501(c)(4) organizations that are darlings of the right. This is actually a fascinating debate to watch...
